Careers Update

Our Students

Congratulations to those in Year 12 and 13 who have been conditionally accepted and accepted into their course of choice for next year. It has been wonderful to hear about those acceptance emails and letters coming through to our students. We have so many of you off to trades and tertiary institutions next year and I know all of the staff at the College wish you all the best on your journey.

Scholarships

The Ellesmere Lions Club Scholarships are available to any students who are undertaking full time tertiary study in the year following their final year at Ellesmere College. Three scholarships of $1500 are available.

The Millie Hays Scholarship is open to any student intending to study Agriculture or Horticulture at Lincoln University.

Both scholarships are administered by the school and students are required to meet certain criteria so please see Ms. Anderson for more details.

New Zealand Defence Force Ladies Night

The New Zealand Defence Force recently held a Ladies Night at Wigram Airforce Museum which some of our young ladies attended. Julianne reported back from the event:

“We had a cool Colonel aka Colonel Mel Childs talk to us and explain life both on and off duty, her journey throughout her life leading up to her joining the army, and how her life is now 30 years after joining. There were also some stationed navy engineers, some army soldiers, and an air force pilot. They all talked about how they ended up within the Army/Navy/Air Force and what they did to get where they are. As well as training and the process to get into any of the forces. Oh, and the advantages of being in the army, along with possible study options within the military.”
