Year 7

We welcome Harold to Ellesmere College this week!

He is talking to our Year 7 students about how we can keep ourselves safe online, what it looks like to be an upstander both on and offline as well as what it is to be a good digital citizen.

Last week we held our first of many Year 7 celebratory assemblies and it was awesome to see so many of our tamariki receive certificates for a range of things including our All Star Award for growth in Ako, Mathlete Award for working hard in Maths, Being an Upstander, Horizon Award for displaying our RISE values and finally an award for Spotted Being Good. We handed out over 50 certificates as well as plenty of lollipops and a few canteen vouchers. Photos of all our award winners are below.

It was great to see students proud of their achievements and I hope these certificates made their way home to the fridge! We look forward to our next one which will be held in Week 9 where we will be celebrating some of the same things as well as some new ones too.

Lastly we are into the building stages of our Rocket Challenge and as per our recent email we are on the lookout for any 1.5l plastic bottles to be brought in by Monday if possible. Thanks to those that have already sent some in with their children.

Ngā mihi
