Year 10

Here at Ellesmere College this term, we are looking at the theme of Connections.

In Y10, this means that there will be a strong focus for the students to explore how researching, goal setting and the actions that they take now connect to the choices and outcomes they would like in the future. They will use careers, personal fitness and literacy development as the contexts for this work.

The work of NZ artist, Ellie Grey, and Kandinski will be the inspiration for our integrated unit, ‘The Art of Mathematics.’ Both artists clearly use the connection between geometry and art to create their distinctive style of work. Will we rise to the challenge and showcase our maths learning through our original artwork too?

To ensure that students are in the best position going into Y11, please ensure that they are bringing everything that they need to be ready for learning to school each day: pens & pencils, a device (& charger if it goes flat quickly), ear phones, a scientific calculator and a positive attitude!
