Junior Quad Tournament 2023

The Ellesmere Quad Rugby team faced three tough games at Mt Hutt College. First off, they played the host team Mt Hutt. Ellesmere played well and had a great second half, but in the end Mt Hutt were too clinical and took the game 51-12.

Next up Ellesmere took on Geraldine. Ellesmere started great, scoring the opening try and continued to apply pressure to Geraldine. Geraldine fought back well and the teams were locked at 10-10 late in the second half. Ellesmere scored a try to go ahead 15-10 but Geraldine finished with a great 90 metre run down the sideline as the clock expired to lock the game up 15-15. Geraldines kicker had a chance to win the game with a conversion but missed right leaving the result as a draw.

Ellesmere then faced a back to back game taking on Darfield High. Ellesmere displayed grit defending and talking well but were not able to hold off a well rested Darfield side.

Overall Ellesmere played some exceptional rugby and represented the school very well. The coaches and staff that went are very proud of the effort that the whole Ellesmere sporting cohort displayed.
