Year 7

Congratulations to the following students who have made it through to our Year 7 Speech finals being held on Monday. The winner of this will represent Ellesmere College at the Selwyn Lions Speech Competition on the 4th September at Halswell Primary School. We wish everyone the best of luck!

Oli Marais, Conner Waites, Ruby Anderson, Chloe McIntyre, Trevor Michael, Kobe Naicker, Addy Davies, McKenna Chynoweth, Josh Marais, Bear Pohe and Sienna Pettit.

Last week we held our first Term 3 celebratory assembly and it was awesome to see so many of our tamariki continue to be rewarded for doing amazing things in Ako and around the school. We handed out over 50 certificates as well as plenty of lollipops and a few canteen vouchers.

We are into the last couple of weeks of Winter Sport. Next week is the final week at Hagley and then we move into the Primary Zone Winter tournament and Koru Games. These tournaments predominantly involve Year 8 students however there are a handful of Year 7 students that will be taking part. A letter will be coming home next week to those involved in these tournaments.

Finally a massive well done to our Year 7 Cantamaths team: Jamison, Oli, Conner and William, for all of their hard work and effort they put into the competition on Wednesday evening and a big thank you to Mrs Jonker for being there to assist them. It sounds like it was a fun time had by all!
