Student Leadership

We are thrilled to announce the completion and unveiling of our legacy project – the concrete table tennis tables!

This endeavour was born from the 2022 Student Leaders and completed by our current Student Leaders. Hopefully the tables will create lasting memories and enhance the student experience here at school. They will undoubtedly become a hub of fun, friendly competition, and camaraderie.

Senior Student Leaders 2024

As the current academic year progresses, the anticipation for the upcoming Leadership Camp builds. This event serves not only as an opportunity to develop essential leadership skills but also to identify and select the next wave of senior student leaders who will guide our school in 2024.

We encourage all aspiring leaders to embrace this chance for growth and to shine in showcasing their leadership potential. Students in Year 11 and 12 should check their emails to receive more information about the process.

The student leadership structure will have some changes for 2024. There will now be 6 Silver Badge Leaders : Community, Arts, Cultural, Environment, Sport & Wellbeing. The current Year 11s will also be applying for the Bronze Badge Leaders as an opportunity to grow leadership skills across the years.

Recognizing Student Volunteers: SVA Badges

Volunteering is at the heart of compassionate leadership, and we are proud to acknowledge the numerous students who have dedicated their time and efforts to make a positive impact in our community.

The recipients of the Student Volunteer Award (SVA) badges have shown outstanding dedication by contributing their hours to meaningful causes. Your selflessness sets an inspiring precedent for others to follow.

There are plenty of opportunities that arise daily for students to log SVA hours. A working bee will take place on the next Teacher Only Day - August 25th - for students to participate in.

The following students were awarded their Member Badge (5 hours):

Ava Dakers, Ingrid Aquino, Lachlan Caldwell, Charlie Laine, Soham Desai, Olivia Maddren & James Maher.

The following students were awarded their Bronze Badge (32 hours):

Olivia Maddren & James Maher

We are massively proud of Morgan Pullan for receiving his Gold Badge for logging over 500 hours!! This is a huge achievement for Morgan and his generosity with his time does not go unnoticed.

Silver Badge Leaders: Pursuing Passion Projects

Our Silver Badge leaders are making waves with their passion projects! These projects are a testament to their creativity and their commitment to making a difference in areas that matter most to them.

We're eagerly looking forward to witnessing the transformational outcomes of these endeavours and the lasting effects they will have on our school and beyond. Watch this space for the Mud Run, Selwyn’s Schools Got Talent and the community garden composting station.

Golden Ambitions: Dance for a Cause

As we enter the third term, our Gold Badge leaders are setting their sights on hosting a sequence of memorable events – a disco, semi-formal, and formal – where some of the proceeds will go to support the "I Am Hope" foundation. By combining celebration and fundraising, they aim to create an atmosphere of joy while contributing to a cause close to our hearts.

Disco - 24th August - School Gym

Semi-formal - 15th September - Dunsandel Community Centre

Formal - 7th October - Dunsandel Community Centre

We're excited by the accomplishments and ambitious projects our student leadership team has embarked upon. They’re leaving a legacy that will undoubtedly shape the future of our school.
