Ngā Tāonga a Waihora

Going native with our backyard!

Over the last few weeks the students doing the Ngā Tāonga a Waihora- Going native with our backyard! Connected Learning Module have been participating in many great experiences learning about our native and non-native plants which are accessible to us. Yesterday we had Whaea Fiona at school teaching our students the uses of harakeke and how to weave. Thank you Whaea Fiona for sharing with us your knowledge and expertise. As part of our experience we got to also taste our tarata (lemonwood) and rhubarb cordial syrup we made last week.

The students have enjoyed learning the medicinal, cooking and other uses of many plants known to us. We have shared some photos here!
