Meet our Hauora team

Kia ora, I would like to introduce you to the Ellesmere College Hauora Team (counselling, health and wellbeing).

Our team supports students in a variety of ways, through counselling, mentoring, health concerns and resourcing whānau.


Liz Young (counsellor) provides a confidential service to students, offering support and guidance around a variety of issues such as mental health, friendships and other life challenges. She accepts referrals from students, parents and teachers.

Nicky Gullery (24/7 youth worker) offers mentoring to students, facilitates small groups about self esteem and healthy friendships etc. and also helps with student leadership and organising the buddy/mentoring programme. 


 Jo Kirrane (youth health nurse) email: nurse@ellesmere.school.nz offers confidential advice and support around a variety of health concerns.  Jo offers a drop-in clinic every Monday at Ellesmere College, no appointment necessary!


Gemma Harrison (community support worker) works with students and whanau around school attendance.
