Perceptual Motor Programme (PMP)
Each Monday the children headed to the auditorium with their teacher to enjoy 30 minutes of physical activity.
During term 2-3 the Year 0-1 children participated in PMP (Perceptual Motor Programme). They had opportunities to experience physical and sensory activities required for perceptual judgments that prepare the brain for learning. All children were able to practise the skills of balance, fitness, eye-hand/eye-foot locomotion, and it was lovely to see them persevere with each activity, as well as attempt some creative exercises that involved more than one movement. PMP was a highlight of the week.
A special thank you to our Sports co-ordinator, Jonelle, who set up the activities for us, as well as supporting the children through a new activity each week.
As always, many of our parents came along to help out as well. Thank you for supporting Elmwood School and the children. We couldn't have achieved this without you. Didn't the 30 minutes go fast?
Check out the photos to see what we got up to.
