Art in Kiwi Whā
This term Kiwi Whā are working on developing our fine motor skills through weaving and threading in our art sessions. So far, we have focused on weaving, creating robots and fish.
“First, Mrs Davie taught us to go ‘over-under-over’ then she taught us to go ‘under-over-under’ on the next one. We had to repeat each weaving pattern with a coloured piece of paper. Sometimes we became frustrated if we forgot to do the correct pattern and had to pull that one out again. We had to keep trying so we could finish out pictures. They look really cool now! The hardest part was squeezing in the last piece of paper, sometimes our fingers would rip the paper but Mrs Davie hid this with sellotape.”
