Elmwood Normal School's Production - "The Game"
Elmwood Reception - September 1, 2019
As I was writing the script, set in 2035, it is purely imagination and conjecture as to whether “The Game” setting and prediction of education and recess time, will in actual fact, be one of quiet contemplation and individual pursuit, as our narrator, Ellie Danholt, so expressively described in the first scene.
I need to acknowledge a correction to “The Game” programme, with our narrator Ellie’s surname being printed incorrectly. Our sincere apologies to Ellie.
My most humble and grateful thanks to everyone at Elmwood, and those in the wider community who have been associated with the production, for bringing my script to life and for trusting our journey would culminate in the way Thursday night’s performance did. Our wonderful Elmwood community supported in so many ways with music, dance, drama coaching, technical expertise, costuming, props, transport etc.
Huge thanks also to the behind-the-scenes team, both on the night with the back stage crew, as well as those who worked to construct props and source material and adornments for the costumes as well as those designing and making them.
Our front of office staff have been wonderful conveyers of news, especially with the tickets being later to go online than we intended.
Back to the busy-ness of Elmwood, with routines and programmes being reestablished after the last few weeks, with the focus being on the production.
Well done everyone.
My sincere thanks
Jeni McKinnon
