At Elmwood Normal School, we acknowledge that learning continues outside school hours and the value of community based learning opportunities.

In support of these learning opportunities the school provides, where possible, a facility for individual tutors who may approach the school.  The school has no other responsibility for this extra-curricula activity.  Enrolment in any programme, along with any financial arrangement, is only between the parent/caregiver and the private tutor.

2024 - ART AFTER SCHOOL WITH JO LOUGHNAN

Art classes will run from 3pm to 4.30pm on a Monday after school. ( Excluding Waitangi Day and Easter Monday). 

The cost for the term is $230.00 ( 10 weeks) All materials and afternoon tea are included.

Everything is based strongly on drawing skills using charcoal, chalk, pastels, dye and a little paint.
We produce a piece of artwork every session. Suitable for children 6 and over.

Booking is essential.

AFTER SCHOOL DANCE 2024

Miss Gemma is very excited to once again be taking the after-school dance classes at Elmwood. These classes are held on Wednesdays from 3.00 – 3.45pm in the Elmwood School Auditorium. They are open to children of any age at $60 per term or $110 for siblings. Each term the children will learn a new routine. At the end of the term there will be a mini concert where they can perform their dance for their family and friends.

Any students wanting to join must enrol for these classes, even if you have done After School Dance previously, by contacting Miss Gemma at gemma.kearney21@gmail.com

AFTER SCHOOL KIDS YOGA

Yoga - Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays 3 - 4:00pm

Our After-school children's yoga programme, provides a programme where
fun and learning go hand-in-hand! Each week, your child will explore
exciting themes designed to support their physical and mental
well-being. Through engaging yoga and breathwork sessions, they will
develop essential skills for emotional regulation and overall wellness.

Held in a nurturing environment, these sessions are led by two fitness
experts who are former and current Elmwood Normal School staff members,
ensuring a personalised approach. Classes run on Mondays, Tuesdays, and
Thursdays in the Elmwood Normal School Auditorium. With a cost of $150
for a 10-week term, the programme is suitable for all ages. Plus,
participants get to enjoy a delightful afternoon tea. Spaces are
limited, making this a truly unique and enriching experience for your
child.
