Targeted Learning Team Professional Development
This week the Targeted Learning team had the privilege of hosting the Learning support team from Heaton Intermediate.
It was a great opportunity for us to connect and discuss new resources, research and learning programmes that support children in their learning.
During our morning of professional development, we were joined by Alison Schroeder.
Alison is a New Zealand registered Speech & Language Therapist and Primary School Teacher who founded Socially Speaking in 2003. She has over 25 years' experience as a Speech & Language Therapist and also teaching students with learning needs.
Alison’s comprehensive experience includes screening, evaluating and working with individuals with a wide range of social and communication challenges.
We gained a greater understanding of children who have these challenges and insightful information about strategies to empower children to self regulate their behaviours by using the zones of regulation.
