Smart Bridge is a complete bridge control and video presentation system. The system has been designed together with experienced skippers in order to achieve the most user friendly and flexible system.

Furuno Smart Bridge (FSB) is designed for large yachts, fishing vessels, work boats and other boats that need to present video and data from several different sources on board, such as radars, ECDIS, chart plotters, echo sounders, sonars, CCTV camera systems, alarm and control systems and so forth.

The consoles are developed by FURUNO in cooporation with shipyards and experienced skippers. They are produced in Denmark and are customized to the specific vessel and shipowners demands.

The consoles have a built-in fan/cooling system and are ready for mounting directly at the floor. The consoles are designed with Olorin 55” monitors as standard but can easily be adapted to work with any kind of monitor. The construction is robust and maintenance free, ready to cope with machine resonance and rough sea conditions.

The consoles may be adjusted in height and tilt angle, individually or all together through the Smart Bridge interface. They may even be delivered with manual adjustment.

User Interface

One of the strong points of the Smart Bridge is the user interface. It is very easy to operate the system, which is an essential feature, especially in a stressed situation.

Predefined Layouts

Through this function it is possible to select predefined layouts in the system. In this way, the operator can choose a layout that is suitable for navigation, fishfinding, docking or whatever need be. When a certain mode is selected, all monitors will be reset to the pre-selected presentation. After selecting a mode, each monitor may individually be changed to a new presentation.

Control Units

FURUNO SmartBridge may be operated from various kinds of touch screens or mobile applications. Normally one or two large 24-27” touch screens are supplied with the system, but it may even be smaller or bigger units.

Monitor Control

Through the Smart Bridge you will get access to the menu in each monitor. It is possible to adjust the brilliance individually for each monitor, for all monitors at once or for a group of monitors.

Virtual Control Units

Modern vessels are normally equipped with many different products for navigation, fishfinding, alarm, monitoring, and communication. The result is that there will be quite many control units in the wheelhouse, so many it is often a challenge to find the space for all of them, and certainly not all can be in reach for the captain and the chief. The solution is a ”virtual” keyboard in the Smart Bridge that replicates the control unit. That way the operator can easely switch between all the connected controls and operate any product from one or several touch screen(s).

SmartBridge Mini

Furuno also offer a Smart Bridge Mini advanced video distribution and control system for small and medium sized vessels.

Below is an example of the controls for FAR-2xx8 Radar and FSV-25 Sonar. The virtual and real hardware control units are almost identical, making operations with familliar products very easy on the SmartBridge interface.
