Marport Acoustic & Mechanical Catch Sensor Range

Marport Catch sensors are available in 3 distinct configurations: 

1. mechanical switch (only), model NFS-5-00 "Catch sensor"
2. acoustic (mechanical with acoustic) model CE-100-W "Catch Eye"
3. dual hybrid (mechanical with acoustic with pitch, roll, depth & temperature), model CE-150-W "Catch Explorer"

While mechanical pull-type are our most popular catch sensor, many fishers are now incorporating acoustic catch sensors. 

Acoustic catch sensors show a down-sounder (TE) echogram - and are well suited to installation on top of the lengthener - as they show acoustic fish traffic. 

This allows the skipper to confirm fish targets observed at the headline have moved aft back towards the cod-end. 

They can also be particularly valuable as an early detection indicator, in identifying large schools moving into the cod-end - so skippers can haul quickly - even before mechanical catch sensors have triggered- thereby preserving quality of catch.

NFS-5-00: Marport traditional A1 Catch Sensor with pull cord assembly, 40kHz 

CE-100-W: Marport (Hybrid) Catch Eye sensor (includes acoustic TE down-sounder + pull cord assembly)

CE-150-W: Marport (Hybrid) Catch Explorer (dual hybrid) sensor (includes acoustic TE down-sounder + pull cord assembly with pitch, roll, depth & temperature)

Upgrades:

Did you know it is possible to upgrade your existing Marport mechanical catch sensor functionality if your sensors are the current generation. Refer below for the optional licensed functions:

• Option: Add Pitch & Roll Option* - roll allows you to determine if cod-end is twisting. Pitch allows you to determine in net if filling (empty cod-end "flies tail up"), and as cod-end fills the pitch will level out to alert skipper of a filling net even before the catch sensor alerts
• Option: Add Depth Option* - so you know sensor depth at the cod-end
• Option: Add Temperature Option* - to get water temperature at the cod-end
• Option: UPGRADE NFS-5-00 (mechanical catch sensor) to HYBRID Catch Explorer (mechanical + acoustic CE-150-W) capability*. This adds acoustic sounder + depth + temp + pitch & roll to your existing sensor.
