Lobbying - we've been busy but we need your help.

We're being heard. This week we had a meeting with The Hon Phil Twyford, Minister of Economic Development, who has agreed to represent the events and venues sector and we have the opportunity to present a paper on our ideas for a recovery roadmap next week.

We urgently need to get a picture of the size of our industry and just how much is at stake if further financial assistance is not forthcoming. Over the next week we'll be contacting every venue and associate Member with a request to provide data. It's vital we have the numbers to back up the size of our industry and the problems we face. If you're the CEO/Venue Manager or the person who has all the numbers at their finger tips you can expect a call/email. Other ways we've been promoting and supporting our Members:

  • Weekly webinars, highlighting areas of our industry with expert panelists sharing their knowledge, experiences and ideas.
  • Weekly update newsletter.
  • Specialist webinar on F & B.
  • Knowledge sharing - keep up to date and check the website for the latest information.
  • The GM is responding to Member enquiries - please don't hesitate to reach out if you need anything. 
  • The EVANZ Board is meeting weekly and in close contact with associated organisations to make sure venues and our suppliers are considered at every level. All of the Board members are available if you need them.
  • Finally this week we started to see the media taking an interest as well. Here's an article that you might not have seen from Stuff.
