Michelle GarforthJunior Middle Team Leader, Room 2 - Year 3/4 michellegarforth@fairfield.school.nz Michelle teaches Years 3/4 in Room 2 and is Leader of the Junior Middle Division. Michelle is Head of Mathematics throughout the school and oversees the Number Shack and maths intervention programmes. Michelle has expertise in Written Language and has a passion for Visual Arts, which she draws upon to encourage creativity and mastery in her students. Michelle is a strong believer in teachers and students working in collaboration to support each other to attain individual goals. |
Christine DalleyYear 3/4 christinedalley@fairfield.school.nz Christine has curriculum strengths in literacy, numeracy, and science, and plays an active role in the Māori Curriculum team. She fosters a warm, supportive learning environment that encourages all ākonga to feel confident to be creative, take risks, solve problems, and take genuine ownership of their learning journey. She is deeply committed to helping ākonga discover their unique identities, build self-confidence, and continuously strive to reach their personal best. |
Debbie GarthRoom 3 - Years 3/4 debbiegarth@fairfield.school.nz Debbie has been at Fairfield since 2009 after graduating as a mature student following many years as a teacher aide. She is excited about teaching in an Innovative Learning Environment (ILE) and sees teaching and learning as a shared journey. Debbie has curriculum strengths in all aspects of Literacy, particularly Spelling, Grammar and Writing, and in Numeracy. She is a member of the Literacy, Mathematics, and Science Curriculum Teams, and assists with the Junior Choir. Debbie sees herself as a facilitator of learning. She gives children the skills and belief in themselves to be successful problem learners in a classroom environment that is safe, happy and caring. |
Melanie TudorRoom 5 - Year 3/4 melanietudor@fairfield.school.nz Mel has taught in the Junior School for the past 5 years in a job share with Carolyn Rogers. She has a Geography and Education background and is Reading Recovery trained. Mel has a passion for the Arts with particular interests in Drama, Dance and Music, and uses these to take on lead roles in the School Production and Stars on Stage performances. Mel enjoys working collaboratively with other teachers and is flexible and adaptable to the needs of children. She is dedicated to building supportive relationships, promotes independence and self esteem, and manages a calm and inviting classroom in Room 5 with Year 3/4 children. |
Carolyn RogersRoom 5 - Year 3/4 carolynrogers@fairfield.school.nz Carolyn is an experienced teacher with all ages and levels. As well as job sharing in Year 3/4 with Melanie Tudor 2 days a week she also releases another teacher in the Year3/4 team one day a week. She has been the Stage Manager for a number of our School Productions and has enjoyed the challenge of co-ordinating all aspects of this. She is able to adapt her teaching style to suit a variety of learners and is therefore able to teach in all areas of the school. She is often in and around the school on her non-teaching days in a variety of relieving roles |
