Aimee Preedy

aimeepreedy@fairfield.school.nz

Aimee is a very experienced Year 5/6 teacher. She adopts a teaching approach that encourages all ākoka to develop self-control and ownership of their learning, based on support, guidance, understanding, and flexibility. She believes in whanaungatanga (establishing a sense of belonging) and in helping ākoka to develop their own sense of identity, building their confidence and supporting them to always do their best. Aimee is a member of our Structured Literacy Team and supports kaiako (teachers) and ākoka (students) in the implementation of this. She also coordinates and tutors our Senior Kapa Haka group, empowering Te Reo, the Performing Arts and Tikanga Māori through a variety of waiata, haka and performances.
