Kia kaha, kia maia, kia manawanui

Be strong, be brave, be steadfast

MESSAGE FROM THE TUMUAKI / PRINCIPAL

Tena koutou to the Fairfield School community,

Swimming season begins

Our Year 5 to 8 students are underway with JC Swimming school lessons and we will have our juniors (Y0-2) in the school pool this week. Juniors will receive an email tonight. We are hopeful to have them in the pool from tomorrow. Thanks for your understanding as we try to get the pool up to temperature. With the winter bugs still around, this delay may actually not be a bad outcome.

Fair meeting in the staffroom at 7.00pm tonight - Tuesday 9th

The countdown continues for our School Fair. Next Friday, on the last day of term, we have our first mufti day. Donations for the chocolate wheel are appreciated.

Winter Flu and Bugs

Sickness remains and we thank you for your support to stop the spread. Numbers seem to be improving and we look forward to getting everyone to 100% health.

Ngā mihi,

Greg

On Tuesday, the 2nd of September, Fairfield Senior and Junior Kapa Haka groups took to the stage for their 2025 Polyfest performance. The build-up to this event had been met with excitement and nerves as they performed as two large groups of over 100+ tamariki.

The Junior group (Te Teina Kapa Haka Rōpū), once again wowed our viewers with a polished performance.  They really stepped up with learning and performing new waiata.  A highlight of our year for our Junior rōpū.  A warm thank you to all our kaiako and whānau for their support.

The Seniors (Te pā Harakeke O Whewhira) evening performance did not disappoint; the group shone as a Year 5-8 group among many intermediates and high school performances. Their waiata was on point, and Haka sent tingles down spines. A huge thank you to the group for their passion and to Ana Pene for her expertise. We would also like to thank all the Whānau for your ongoing support.

"Toku reo tōku ohooho, tōku reo tōku māpihi maurea"

"My language is my awakening, my language is the window to my soul". This proverb highlights how language serves as a vital pathway to understanding one's identity, culture, and inner self.

VOTE TODAY! The Board of Trustees election closes tomorrow,

10th September 2025 at 4.00pm

Please mark down Friday the 19th September as a mufti day.

The Fair Committee would love donations for our Chocolate Wheel. One item per family is appreciated.
