Fairfield School Newsletter - Term 3, Week 1
Welcome back to Term 3, 2024! It has been a rather chilly start to the school term!
I hope everyone, including the adults, had a restful school holiday. The school library deck is undergoing an incredible transformation, complete with a revamped non-slip covering and shade cloth. We are immensely grateful to everyone who supported our gala, as your contribution has made this upgrade possible. Thank you for making this happen. Keep watching this space!
DUFFY BOOKS
A big thank you to all our fundraisers for the recent Book-a-thon. The funds raised enabled us to participate in the Duffy Books home offers. We are also very grateful to our local funding partner, MainFreight. Pictured above are some very happy children receiving their Duffy Books, which they will keep at home and can add to their previous year's collections of Duffy Books.
One of our older students, Rylee, spoke about what happens to her Duffy Books once they go home:-
I read them straight away after school. I like that people have a good spirit for reading because we get free books and it's really cool because you get to express how much you like books. I collect the Wings of Fire series and I got one from Duffy Books and that makes me very happy. I collect the books at home and sometimes I pass them to my friends to read them and they give them back to me after. I've got two shelves full of books.

Chloe's Football Success
During the school break, Chloe had an exciting time travelling to Christchurch with her football team for the Christchurch International Cup. They faced off against teams from different places and did great, finishing as runners-up in the 12th-grade boys' division. She also participated in the Hawke's Bay National Futsal Youth Tournament and became the runner-up in the U11 category. Chloe had a fantastic time playing and making memories with her teammates! | |||
