PPTA and NZEI Stop Work Union Meeting

Fendalton School —

The Government has announced a proposal to change the way schools are funded. In response the teachers’ unions known as the Post Primary Teachers’ Association (“PPTA”) and the New Zealand Educational Institute Te Riu Roa (“NZEI”), have joined forces and called a union meeting. This will take place on Wednesday 7 September at 1.30pm.

As no formal teaching will be taking place from 12.30pm, we encourage you to collect your children from school at this time. We will have a skeleton staff of non-union members who are able to keep children safely supervised in the event that you are unable to collect them until 3pm.

A notice on blue paper has been sent home with your child today. Please read this and fill out the slip provided and return to the school office so we can keep a list of children remaining at school on this day.

We acknowledge the inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience.
