Anzac Day Art - from years 3 & 4
In years 3 & 4 we have been learning about ANZAC Day. On our first day back at school we had an ANZAC service at school. Lieutenant Shaun Heaslip talked to the school about the kinds of roles that the military carries out, and then the service ended with Lance Corporal Joel Williams from the army playing the last post on the bugle.
To celebrate this ceremony and event we made ANZAC art. We made art using silhouettes. A silhouette is made when a bright light is shone behind an object or a person. It creates a black outline similar to a shadow.
We had to cut out our choice of silhouette on Thursday. On Friday we used pastels to create a sunset blending the colours red, yellow, and orange.
We used scraps from our silhouette to make the hills that they stood on.
We think they look great.
