BOT News
Happy Easter to all our families from the Board of Trustees. We wish you all a wonderful holiday and look forward to seeing everyone back refreshed for term 2.
It’s been a very busy, and long, 11-week term for everyone. The community have seen many sporting, cultural and social events taking place. We thank you for your continued support whether you are driving kids to events, cheering them on from the sidelines, attending the assemblies, parent helping in class, or putting together a costume last minute. The school really values your parental and community input.
A brief update of Board of Trustee focus areas:
POOL - We are still in discussions with the YMCA to develop a joint project. They are preparing a business case for their own board to consider.
PROPERTY & GROUNDS - We were thrilled with the working bee and rejuvenated sandpit. Work is continuing on replacing our school perimeter fence, the redevelopment of rooms 1-6, and repairing/replacing the slippery wooden decking beside the senior playground.
PTA - Thank-you to our retiring PTA Chairperson Liesl Carrodus for her incredible energy and generosity during her years on the PTA. We welcome Sarah Bourke our new Chairperson, the 2017 team, and all the wonderful PTA helpers
We have enjoyed the Year Group Drinks Evenings, House & Garden Tour (thanks also to Harcourts for their wonderful organisation), and look forward to term 2 events coming up starting with the Quiz on May 26.
BOARD MEMBERS - We farewelled Alistair Snow and his family to Queenstown, and thank him for all the advice and expertise he contributed to the BOT. We are now looking for interested members of our school community to join the Board of Trustees in a seconded role until the next elections are held. Skills we particularly seek are engineering, building, IT, finance, or marketing.
FINANCES - Thank you for paying your school activity fees. These fees are paid to the providers of all the activities the children take part in outside of school eg, swimming, gymnastics etc. so we absolutely rely on family payment. If you are having any difficulty in paying these fees, please see the school office who will guide you through applying to our Principal’s fund to assist you. We thank you again for your contributions.
We have introduced new look financial statements so when you log into your child’s school account, you can see at a glance the charges you have incurred (eg, camp, swimming, bus to sport) and whether you have paid. This stays on the statement all year so you can keep track.
