NZ Playhouse visit
On Friday 31st July Year 1-3 had a play visit from the NZ Playhouse
The play was called Chilled and about Antarctica, which was a perfect fitting to the end of Year 3s learning about the continent and the start of Year 1-2s learning about it.
Children heard how to get to Antarctica, who can travel there, about transport, melting ice caps because of Global Warming, animals... all intertwined into a fun story about a very enthusiastic Youtuber and two very serious scientists!
The playwrights travelled to Scott Base in November 2018, as guests of Antarctica NZ with the aim to research, write and film content for a children's play. The result of this work is Chilled, and New Zealand Playhouse is presenting it around all of New Zealand and hoping to take it to Australia soon.
