Today we have enjoyed the excitement of paddling a hand-crafted waka down the Avon River.  We have learnt much about the waka's importance and use in Maori culture.  We listened to early stories from Ngāi Tahu and the earliest European Settlers about the many positive things they achieved building the city of Christchurch together.
