Rachel from the Orchards in Schools programme recently came to school to give the fruit trees a spring prune and a health check. She worked with a team of Year 5s to explore the blossom, and the process of pollination (watching the bees and insects at work), identify the fruit set, discuss the understorey planting and identify any issues impacting on the health of the trees. As you can see in the photos the children were very engaged and interested.
