About Our School
Fendalton Open-air School teaches boys and girls from Year 1-6. Our students are aged from 5 to 11 years old.
We start our school year in February and finish in December, just before Christmas.
Our school has 21 classrooms, an administration block, a library, a music room, an art room, a multi-use room and an ESOL room. We also have use of a big hall owned by the city council.
Fendalton Open-air School is known for our high levels of academic achievement and success in cultural, music and sporting events. We have many extension and support programmes including ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) to cater for the needs and interests of our students.
We offer:
- a welcoming, warm, supportive environment that encourages parents to be actively involved in their child’s learning.
- learning in an age-appropriate classroom with English speaking children taught by classroom teachers experienced in teaching students from other countries.
- exciting and innovative learning programmes, which integrate use of digital technologies.
- additional English support by a qualified and experienced ESOL specialist.
- a supportive parent community, translation assistance and regular parent meetings. opportunities to participate in wider school curriculum programmes, including music, sport, outdoor education and camps.
We are a signatory to The Code of Practice for International Students and adhere to this document.
What will it cost?
NZ$13,500.00 per year.
NZ $4,250.00 per term.
NZ $750.00 per week.
An additional administration fee of $500.00 is charged for students who enrol week by week - this is non-refundable.
