Some lovely descriptions of collecting the leaves.
Collecting the leaves
I could feel the leaves in my cold hands as I ran to put them in bags. The leaves felt crumbly dry and bumpy too. I started to get some dust in my eyes from the leaves. It hurt so aI blinked for a little. Then someone gave me a rubbish bag to hold so I took it and went over to some kids that were holding leaves. They put the leaves in the bag and then ran to get some more.

Helping out at School
On a warm cloudy autumn morning at Fendalton School. The leaves from the big tree were falling and spreading very quickly. After handwriting Hub 2 Year ¾ went outside to help pick up all the leaves. We went to pick up the leaves for 3 reasons. The first reason was that it is good for the environment. Second was because John our Caretaker had had a hand operation and was away.
Thirdly - IT WAS FUN.
I picked up some leaves near the front of our classroom with my friend Alazne. I bent down to pick up the light brown curly leaves and put them in a giant rubbish bag. After a few moments, Sylvie and Abi came out and helped us pick up more leaves. Soon heaps of Hub 1 & 2 children started picking up the leaves. So Alazne, Sylvie, Abi, Arizona and I moved to a different area.
As we walked to the court the wood-brown leaves made a crunchy sound under our feet. When we picked up the leaves they made a sound as loud as a lion's roar. After half an hour of working, we headed back to class and had our brain food.
