Fernside School students recognised at latest assembly.
Twenty two students were awarded classroom certificates at the school assembly on March 14th.
One of the highlight features of any school assembly is the presentation of certificates to students across the school. The awards are given for a variety of reason and are written and presented by the home room teacher.
Some certificates are given to acknowledge children when they have achieved particular milestones as they progress through the curriculum. (Whether this is in reading, writing, science or art, social science etc.)
Other awards focus on the development of the key competencies identified in the National Curriculum. These certificates recognise "relationships with other", "participating and contributing" and "managing self."
Finally, many awards are given to acknowledge students who exhibit the school values of "optimism, perseverance and gratitude." To be a Fernside student is to show these regularly.
The school staff are pleased to acknowledge all the children who received the awards last week. They are making the most of their opportunities to learn.
