Spring is well and truly here and before we know it keys will be on sale for community use of the Fernside School pool!

Last season's roster system worked smoothly and it was great to have some new families on board to help. In order to open the pool outside school hours, we need volunteers.

We are looking for volunteers to help out during term time - evenings and weekends only - (but, if you have a yearning to cover a school holiday week, then let me know!) Our wonderful school caretaker, Barry, looks after the pool during school hours. The roster is split into: inside or outside duty; with one inside and one outside person on duty for one week at a time.

Outside duty

· cover pool evenings

· uncover pool weekend mornings

· empty filter baskets

· clean pool surface with skimmer net

· check changing rooms

Inside duty
· pump room checks (pressure/chemical levels)
· dipstick water testing

To make the community pool run smoothly we NEED volunteers for these duties, otherwise the pool will NOT open outside school time!! Many hands make light work. We always welcome new families helping out! (You do NOT need to join the Committee – just help on the roster!)

The pool is an asset to the Fernside community. It is a great place to spend time with your family during the long, hot summer evenings/holidays and to meet other families in the community.

PLEASE help make it work and volunteer one week of your time this season. Get in quick, to choose your week!

A short get-together will be held early November to run through the duties in more detail and to answer any further questions.
