8:30 am - Pedestrian students may arrive at school
8:55 am - Arrival of Ohoka Bus
9:00 am - School starts
10:30 am - Morning interval
10:50 am - Return to class
12:30 pm - Lunch break
1:25 pm - Classes recommence
2:55 pm - School finishes
3:05 pm - Ohoka bus departs
3:15 pm - Non-bus students to leave the school
3:25 pm - Mt Thomas departs

Library

We are proud of our library. Please encourage your child to use it fully. Ensure that your child has a library book bag (approx. 30 cms x 40 cms and available from the school office for $4.30) for transporting books as this helps to keep the books together and offers protection. (Most children use their reading folders.)

Reporting

Reporting to parents occurs in three different ways during the year. It takes the form of a class meeting, parent interviews and formal written reports. Parent Teacher interviews occur twice a year, once in Term 1 and again in Term 3. Reports are issued at the end of Term 2 and Term 4.

1) “Meet the Teacher” evening occurs in Term 1 and is held in the teacher’s classroom. Each teacher will give a general breakdown of their class program.
2) Formal interviews are held at the start of Term 1 and the beginning of Term 3. These are Goal setting interviews which include the students. Further formal interviews can be made on request throughout the year.
3) A written report is completed in the middle and the end of the Year. This is done online using a system called Linc-Ed. (Reporting for the New Entrant class may differ slightly.)

Sun Protection

In view of the risks to health from over-exposure to the sun, the school requires the use of sun hats during Terms 1 & 4. We also urge the use of sunscreen. The sun hats, which are described in the official Uniform Policy, must be worn on all school trips and outings as well.
