On Friday we aim to deliver your child's report to you online on our updated Linc-ed/ HERO system.

Reporting this year has been interrupted due to covid-19. At the end of term 2 we started the reporting process through our 'partnership conferences'. The partnership conferences were not only a way for parents to reconnect with their child's homeroom teacher but were essentially a face to face report for all of our students.

The second part of this process is a written comment that you will receive on Friday. The aim of the online report is to provide parents of a written summary of the term 2 conference as well as a progress report on reading, writing and mathematics. The progress report will give parents an indication (via a graph and a statement) as to whether their child is likely to be at expectation by the end of the year.

The upgraded reporting system is still a Linc-ed platform, however there has been a name change to HERO and the system is slightly different. This upgrade happened during level 2 and we are still working on perfecting the Fernside Standards on the upgraded system. So if your progress report doesn't seem right it is probably an issue at our end. Please contact us with any issues and we will attempt to resolve them for you.

How to access reports

If you can remember your username and password from previous years then you should be able to login to our new site with these. You should also be able to access the new HERO app with your username and password. Below is a link to the instructions on how to access both the online platform and the smart phone app. (If you have recently changed your email please contact the school so we can update your details otherwise you may not be able to access your child's report on Friday).

It would be ideal to test these before Friday to make sure that they are working for you. Then I will send out an alert on Friday when the reports are published for you to read. Again if you have any issues please contact myself or Mitchell Bailey and we will help you gain access to your child's report.

Using the App to view your child's report

On Friday when the reports are published you will see the following screen. Click on the three lines at the top left.

This is the first time Fernside School has used this method of reporting and there is likely to be some teething issues. Feel free to email me if you have any issues. Thanks
