Jr. Force Workout #7

We are full of some fresh drills for you today, coming from the Jr. NBA Channel.

Get outside after school before it rains.  Maybe you can do this workout at lunch if you are motivated.  There are options for multiplayer drills or single player drills (like an Xbox he he).

Warm-up

  • 10 star jumps 
  • 10 rebounding jumps (pretend you are skying for a board/see Video if needed)
  • Layup Skips (see video) 
    • 5 right handed, 5 left handed 
  • Defensive stance hold (count to 20 in your head and stay low with arms out to sides)

Handles

  • 3-3-3 Drill (see video) - 20 reps
  • Low-medium-high crossover (see video) - 20 reps of each

Passing

Pound + Pass Drill (to a partner or use a wall)(see video) 

  • 20 one handed air passes (no bounce) with each hand (knee height pound dribble)
  • Repeat but with ankle height pound dribble

Layups

Lane Layups (see lane layups video)

  • Right Handed Layups (jump off left foot)(5 sec. on video) - Make 5
  • Left Handed Layups (jump off right foot)(30 sec. on video) - Make 5
  • Stride Stop Left Handed (outside/inside footwork)(44 sec on video) - Make 5
  • Stride Stop Right Handed (outside/inside footwork)(1:04 on video) - Make 5

Chase Layups (if you have a partner)(see video)

  • 5 reps each on offence. Switch sides and repeat.

Shooting

Form & Footwork

  • Form Shots (no ball) - 10 reps
  • Form Shots with ball (make sure you hold your follow through until ball hits the floor) - 20 reps
  • Spin to Self Form Shots (see Spin to Self Video)
    • 1 practice round each direction using 3 spots
    • Then make 3 from each spot, going both ways.  Using 3 spots, that will be 9 makes each way, for a total of 18 makes.

Around the World Game (play against yourself or against a mate or in teams)(see video). 

  • Play as many times as you want. Maybe the loser has to do your household jobs for you (chores). πŸ˜œ
