Junior Force #6 - The Triple Double

Sabrina Ionesco was selected as the #1 pick in the 2020 WNBA draft on Saturday. She will be playing in New York and she will be wearing Nike, after signing a multi-year deal with the famous sportsbrand.

Triple Double - double figures in 3 statistical categories.  Most commonly it is done with points, rebounds and assists.  Some people get it with points, blocks and rebounds. In the lineup for you today is ball handling, passing and shooting. Have fun!  

Handles

Force 10 minute Pound Series (use video below)

  • 20 Shoulder height dribbles
  • 20 Waist dribbles
  • 20 Knee dribbles
  • 20 Ankle dribbles
    • (do this with the right hand then with left hand)
  • 20 cross overs
  • 20 pound double cross (right and left) 

For a challenge and for kids 10+

  • 20 Between the legs (pound dribble + between the legs, pound dribble other hand then between the legs for 20 total).
  • 20 behind the back (Pound dribble + behind the back dribble, pound dribble other hand + between the legs, for a total of 20). 

Passing (you need a wall or a partner)

  • 20 reps chest pass (pass again the wall and it will bounce once back to you) (see Chest/Bounce video from 1:49 for how to use the wall)
  • 20 reps bounce pass (bounce pass and ball hits wall with 1 bounce, then bounces back to you in 1 bounce)
  • 20 reps wrap around pass with right hand (see Wrap Around video from 24 sec.)
  • 20 reps chest pass with left hand
  • 20 reps bounce pass with right hand (same as previous, but it is a bounce pass)
  • 20 reps bounce pass with left hand
  • 20 reps overhead pass (make sure it bounces once before you catch it) (See Overhead Pass video from 18 sec.)

Shooting

  • Make 100 Shots with workout #1 or #2 below.
  • If you’d rather play 2-3 games of “Beat Johnny” then go for it.

Beat “Johnny” Shooting Game (with hoop)

  • Choose your favourite star player or idol to play against.
  • Every time you make a shot, you get 1 point.
  • Every time you miss a shot, your star player gets 1 point.
  • First player to 15 wins

Set a time limit on your game. Increase the challenge by giving your star player 2 points for your miss, or decrease the time you give yourself to play.

Don’t forget to log your shot in the 2000 Club.
