What is an Academic Blue for?

Students in Yr 11-13 complete 5-6 subjects and gain credits for work done against a standard. Typically, they would do around 18 credits in a subject for the year and that would be made up of standards of between 3 to 14 credits each. This is a mixture of standards that are done in the end of year exams called Externals and throughout the year called Internals.

Students can gain an Achieved, Merit or Excellence Grade for these standards with Excellence recognised as a benchmark of the highest standards at school.

An Academic Blue is recognition of students doing NCEA who have gained 50 credits or more at Excellence level called an NCEA Excellence Endorsement.
