Geraldine’s Volleyball team takes on the Aoraki Volleyball Championships
The Aoraki Volleyball Championships held at Aorangi Park Stadium, Timaru on Tuesday 21st April was attended by both Geraldine High's Senior and Junior Girls' Volleyball A teams, accompanied by our very own Mrs. Mckeown and our sports - coordinator Mrs. Harding.
During the day, the teams played very well; the Senior A's finished sixth overall, taking home wins against Waitaki Girls and Ashburton College, and putting up a ferocious fight against all the other teams, pushing the two set games into three. Throughout every game, Mrs. Mckeown described each play as “never short on nail-biting rallies”.
At the end of the day, all players were knackered and bruised up, having played to their heart's content. New skills were learned and Mrs. Mckeown had discovered a newfound appreciation for the sport, whilst the Senior A's had also discovered that their number one supporter was armed with the unlikely mood lifter which came by the name of cauliflower puffs.
Overall, it was a fantastic opportunity to display sportsmanship and represent Geraldine High School with pride.
