Football
Karma Gyeltshen is a part of the Geraldine Men's First Division Football team.
The seniors had their Chatham Cup 1st round game last weekend. They travelled to Wanaka to play Wanaka who are a premier team that play in the premier competition in Dunedin. Geraldine went down hoping to be competitive and scored 2 early goals. The Wanaka team had underestimated their capabilities and with 5 minutes remaining, managed to draw even and then scored the deciding goal in the last minutes of the game. The final score was 2-3. Coach Shaun Stack said Karma was the player of the day and was probably the best player on the pitch out of both teams. Even after having the flu all week, Karma still gave it 100%. It was a game in which Karma really showed his class. Great work Karma.
Also in this team is ex GHS student James Stack.
