Phones away for the day

The government has introduced regulations that require schools to ensure that students do not use or access a mobile phone whilst they are attending school. This includes during lunch time and breaks. 

GHS has had a 'no cell phone in class' policy in place for a while now - these regulations extend that policy to include break times. We advise students to leave their phones at home however we appreciate that some students will need their phones before or after school for transport purposes and other personal reasons. Students bringing phones to school will need to keep them in their bags. 

If your child has a medical or learning reason to require a phone during class time please make contact with your dean to discuss. If a parent or caregiver needs to contact their child urgently during the day, they should call the office or contact their child via their school email address.

All students require a laptop or chromebook to access online learning. Please contact the office or your child's dean if purchasing a device is difficult.
