GHS Foundation —

The GHS Trust was established in 1998 with the aim of "Furthering the education of students attending GHS".The Trust was renamed GHS Foundation in 2018 to end some confusion with other Geraldine "Trusts".

The Foundation can and has contributed money for equipment, facilities, staffing, training, seminars, and other resources that are not funded by the Ministry of Education.

The Foundation grows funds which now amounts to over $800,000. The Foundation has now made a target of growing this fund to initially 1 million in the next 18 months and then 2 million in the next 3 years.

Funds are carefully invested in a balanced portfolio to maximise long-term growth of the capital and to provide income for GHS projects. The Foundation has received generous donations over the years from old students of GHS, local businesses and community groups.

Contributions that have been made to the GHS are renovations to the library, the school car, a garage to house the car and trailers, the year 7 and 8 playground, speakers for the school hall and up grading the Hauora/ Wellbeing Centre. All these contributions add up to over $120,000.

The Foundation is now committed to setting up a database of past pupils to foster social connections with GHS and friends.
