Ms Williams —

Ayubowan!

This week we are introducing:

NAME: Senadi Kariyawasam Haputhanthirge

AGE: 17 years old (Year 12)

HOME TOWN: Galle, Sri Lanka!

ROLES: International Committee Member

WHEN DID YOU ARRIVE IN NZ? I arrived in NZ around early 2013 when I was 6 years old and grew up in Canterbury.

LIKES: I like to watch movies, to cook, to sing and to play the piano.

My favourite Sri Lankan dishes are rolls, egg roti, vegetable roti, cutlet, and milk toffee.

FIRST THOUGHTS ON NZ: The first thing I did when I first arrived in NZ was take pictures with my family. I found it a lot colder here in NZ than back home, but finding a new home here and meeting all these amazing people I am proud to call my friends was one of the best parts of my move. I found the change of space mesmerising and interesting because of how different the culture and cities are.

INTERESTING FACTS: Did you know Sri Lanka used to be called Ceylon? Also, the oldest living tree known to be planted by man is in Sri Lanka.

I’ve grown to love NZ and I can’t wait to explore more of it!

Thank you, School!

Senadi
