Year 7 camp 2024

Year 7 —

Year 7 Camp was really fun. There were lots of activities and the food was great.

Our first great adventure was a jet boat ride on the Rakaia River. The guy who drove the jet boat did Hamilton spins and went really close to the rocks (it was a bit scary). After the jet boat ride we had to wait for a while for the next group to go on the very long walk. The walking track was wet and slippery, most of it was uphill but we still enjoyed it. We were very excited to get back to the warm showers. Setting up the tents was a challenge. Rocks beneath the ground made it very hard to peg our tents down. Dinner was delicious. We had Lasagna and Mac and Cheese.

The next day was full of activities like Archery, ropes course, abseiling, games and waterslide.

Everyone's favorites were the abseiling and the waterslide. Abseiling was fun to watch. I didn't do it myself but everyone looked like they enjoyed themselves. The waterslide was a blast even the parents went down. Mr Young looked like a penguin when he slid down the steep hill. After our dinner there was a very entertaining talent show. My group did the coconut dance and one of the girls fell off the stage which made everyone laugh. The excitement disappeared when we had to get in our pjs.

Next day was unfortunately our last day. The sunrise was beautiful but as the day went on it started to rain heavily so we ended up watching a movie after we cleaned up camp. Some people regreted walking to the busses in the cold rain when there was the choice of going on the mini vans. The bus ride back to school was quiet and some of us fell asleep.

We all loved camp and had an amazing time. Now we have a massive pile of lost undies and socks to sort through. Do you know anyone that has lost some?
