Hangi Fundraiser

Jordyn and Sarah —

For rural communities affected by Cyclone Gabrielle

Tēnā koutou katoa,

Our PIA students, in conjunction with the Māori whānau class and with the help of Quentin Cooper and Jimmy Paewhenua, are running a hangi fundraiser in support of rural communities affected by Cyclone Gabrielle.

This is an invaluable learning opportunity for our students, who are involved in collecting food and money donations, preparing the kai, digging the hole, laying the hangi, and distributing it to those who order. It is also a wonderful way for our school community to demonstrate manaakitanga and aroha to those whose lives have been so drastically impacted by the cyclone.

Please use the information on the flyer to place your orders for hangi meals. These will be ready for pick up on Friday 17th March (next Friday) from the GHS Kennedy Park st entrance between 5.30pm - 6pm.

If you would like to contribute a monetary donation to go towards the purchase of the hangi meats, please use the account details on the flyer.

Ahakoa he iti, he pounamu

No matter if your contribution is big or small, it is all valued and gratefully received
