Well done Conor.

Mrs Sarah Foley completed her National swimming officials exam - both for inspector of turns and Judge of Stroke.

Congratulations Sarah.

Tom Harding has been selected for the New Zealand Orienteering Senior Boys team his younger brother Matt was selected as a non travelling reserve for the Junior Team.

Tom will be travelling to South Australia to compete for New Zealand in the Senior Boys grade at the Australian Secondary Schools Orienteering Champs for the Southern Cross Trophy. There will be 8 events over 9 days, 6 of which are individual races and 2 are team relays, running from 29th September through to 7th of October. New Zealand competes as a state of Australia against the other states over these races, collecting points from placings of the top for competitors in each grade, for that state. There were six people selected for each age and gender grade, that's why Matt was selected as a travelling reserve.

Well done and good luck.

Jump Jam

On Wednesday 20th we took 1 Year 7 & 8 team ( G-Town Gicians) to compete in the South Canterbury Jump Jam Competition. Team members were: Zoe Knox, Adrianna Savage, Shelby Henson, Sophie Thorpe, Alana Berry, Tara O'Brien and Hazel Voigt (Jacob Muff was sick on the day of the competition). Only one of the team had competed before. The team was great and had so much fun competing on the big stage . Thanks so much to their coaches Molly-Kate Morrison, Rachel Harford, Brianna Howell, Emma Wilson and Amelia McKeown.

Well done to you all. All of those lunch time trainings paid off!

Senior Quad

The Senior Quad was held in Ellesmere on Thursday 21st June. Unfortunately Rugby was not played as Mt Hutt and GHS couldn’t provide teams.

Our Football boys started very well with 2 wins over Darfield and Ellesmere but unfortunately lost to Mt Hutt which left 3 teams with the same number of points. Our boys, on a points count back, won the Football.

Our Netball team battled through the court conditions to win their first game vs Darfield. They played much better in the second game but lost to a speedy and physical Ellesmere side. They had a good win against Mt Hutt in their last game.

Over all on points Darfield 1st, Geraldine and Ellesmere 2nd and Mt Hutt 4th.
