As a follow up from our previous presentation about curriculum change for 2022, here is an overview of the main changes and features.

This Friday we will be holding our Junior Prize Givings. Unfortunately, because of current COVID restrictions around group gatherings, we have made the decision to have two junior prize givings.

Emails will be sent out regarding times students are required to be at school these days.

All buses will be running 15 minutes later in the mornings from this year. There is no change to the afternoon time.

The new owners of one of our school programme built coops have taken possession leaving one still available.

What a year it has been in the world of sport. Term 4 started off with a bit of disappointment with the majority of events being cancelled due to the government's changes in the regulations for sport. In saying this we have been very fortunate to have and had a full season of weekly sporting codes and day events.

The board of School Sport NZ have confirmed that all School Sport NZ sanctioned events in Term 1 2022 (including the term 1 holidays) will be restricted to fully vaccinated participants, aged 12 and over, only. Where practicable, this mandate extends to spectators attending also. This decision will be reviewed post Summer Tournament Week 2022 and taking into account the latest Government advice.

The myth is now officially legend! PIA has been named the Top School in New Zealand by Primary ITO based on student outcomes, achievement and retention. Go us!

The Sanford Science Fair ended up being one with a difference. After not being able to run it in 2020 it was run this year but no students were able to be there due to Covid restrictions.

Congratulations to the following students who have achieved a Science Badge this year. Students must complete a range of activities that are worth a number of points. A total of 20 points is needed to be awarded the badge.

Students in 7Bn have been learning a variety of poem forms over the term.
