The NZEI has advised schools that its member teachers will be taking strike action on 16 March 2023.

The GEIS Board has carefully considered the availability of non-union teaching staff, and unfortunately decided that we can’t provide normal instruction during the strike so the school will officially be closed for instruction on Thursday, 16 March. Accordingly, it’s important that you make alternative arrangements for the care of your child/children under 14 years of age during the period of the strike as no supervision can be provided.

We know that this is inconvenient for parents and students alike.
