Introducing Te Henga Mini School Class and Vice Councillors for 2020.

Congratulations to the students who were elected from Rooms 18 - 25 to represent Te Henga mini school on the school council this year. Read to find out a little more about them.

Room 18:  Izak van Niekirk - Class Councillor

Hi my name is Izak.  I am 11 years old and I am the Class Councillor for Room 18 2020.  In my spare time I play rugby. I like cooking and baking as well. On the weekends I play with my friends and shoot some hoops.  Sometimes I play Ps4 on the weekends. This year at GEIS I wanted to make this the best year ever.

Ruby Wyness - Vice Councillor

Hi my name Ruby.  I am 12 years old and I have one older brother who attends Green Bay High School.  In my spare time I like to dance and hang out with my friends.  I do jazz, tap dancing, lyrical and contemporary at Auckland Academy of Dance.  I am off to Green Bay High next year, I am looking forward to going there.

Room 19: Gaon Park - Class Councillor

Hello, my name is Gaon, I am 12 years old, and I am the Class Councillor for Room 19 2020. My goal as a Class Councillor was to make sure everyone is having the time they should be having at GEIS. In my spare time I like to paint or sketch, I play the violin and some piano. I love playing Netball, and other sports. I am always happy and will always be open to help with anything. 

Emily Kou - Vice Councillor

My name is Emily and I'm 13 years old.  I am the Vice Councillor for Room 19.  In my spare time I like to art and music.  I play three instruments - piano, guitar and flute.  I have a younger sister who is 6 years old.  I like the teachers at GEIS and my favourite subject is mathematics.

Room 20: Logan Moir - Class Councillor

Hello, my name is Logan Allan Moir, and I am 13 years old. I am the Class Councillor for Room 20 for 2020, and my goal was to help make the GEIS experience fun for everyone. My goal as a student for this year was to create a strong foundation for high school and work well enough to create a strong positive impact on my future. I enjoy track and field, and I specialise in 800m and long jump. I am extremely competitive, and if I cannot compete myself, I will try to help as much as I can. My favourite subjects in school are writing and maths. I like to think that I am a good writer, and I enjoy creative narrative writing more than anything else. 

Adam Ludvig - Vice Councillor

My name is Adam and I am 12 years old.  I like eating and playing Minecraft.  I am unique in my own way, becauseI am good at speaking.  I am the youngest of 3 children which I find challenging.  I like GEIS because it has alot of opportunities for students.

Room 21: Tommy Cahill - Class Councillor

Hi my name is Tommy and I am 13 years old.  I am special, because I'm artistic.  In my spare time I play video games.  I like GEIS and being able to walk to school.  I will be attending Green Bay High School next year and I am looking forward to going to school with my cousin.  

Cameron Catchpole - Vice Councillor

Hi, I'm Cameron and I am the youngest child in my family with 3 older siblings.  In my spare time I like to play games with my friends and watch videos and movies.  I like that GEIS is a big school and has a lot of opportunities and things to do.  I am going to Waitakere College next year where my mother works.

Room 22: Emmett Van Griffin - Class Councillor

Hi, my name is Emmett. I'm 11 years old. My goal for 2020 was to make Glen Eden a more environmentally friendly school by reducing paper use and making the school toilets more like the Eco toilets. I love Drama and acting. I am very passionate about politics. I’ve played netball for 4 years. I was the Student Councillor at my primary school and I also love animals.

Jack Irving - Vice Councillor

Hi, I’m Jack I’m 11 and I’m Vice Councillor for Room 22. I went to Laingholm Primary and was on the student council there. I enjoy reading, writing, Roblox, spending time with friends, debating and acting. I also love animals. I’m really excited for my first year at G.E.I.S. My goal for this year was to make G.E.I.S a better school for everyone.  

Room 23:  Sahil Singh - Class Councillor

Kia ora. My name is Sahil and I am the Class Councillor in Room 23, I am honoured. In my spare time I love to spend as much time with my friends and whanau, I also love to play video games. I have always really enjoyed playing and learning a range of different sports, I think that sports are very fun, two of my favourite sports are rugby and badminton.  

Alyssa Procter - Vice Councillor

Kia Ora, my name is Alyssa Procter and I am the Vice Councillor in Room 23, I am so appreciative to have this role. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I am a very competitive person who loves to win.  When playing sports or games I always try my best. I am very inspired by music and when listening to music it brings out my creativity.

Room 24: Hunter Saaga - Class Councillor

Hi, my name is Hunter Saaga, I am 12 years old. In my spare time I like to play on my PS4.   I’m competitive at some sports, and I like to play basketball at school.  I was never interested in basketball last year, but now I like to play with my friends. I’m do well at and enjoy reading.  My goal for 2020 was to help students all around the school.

Zoe Kucija - Vice Councillor

Zdravo, my name is Zoe Kucija. I am Vice Councillor for Room 24, 2020. I am very honoured to have this opportunity as it will be something to remember when I leave for high school next year. I love maths, writing and inquiry. I play soccer for a club (Central United ) and have been invited to warriors sports camp. Sport is one of my many passions, I also do drama/acting outside of school. My goal for 2020 was to be open to everyone and let them speak up and ask questions. 

Room 25: Aden Smeele  - Class Councillor

Hi, my name is Aden Smeele, I am 12 years old. In my spare time I do a lot of gaming, and I also play waterpolo and soccer and am pretty competitive. I dislike inquiry and I like math. I just walk around at school and talk with my friends. I was, and still am very honoured to be voted by my classmates to be Class Councillor. My goal for 2020 was to be helpful and make sure when people ask me questions I can help them.

Lili Finn - Vice Councillor

Hi! My name is Lili Finn and I am the Vice Councillor for Room 25 this year. I am honoured that my peers voted for me and I am very thankful for that. In my spare time I enjoy playing football, swimming, and especially going on adventures. My goal as Vice Councillor this year was to help my peers in class and around school. I hoped to make the most of my last year at GEIS!
