Board of Trustees end of term update
Kia Ora Glen Eden Intermediate Community,
As we approach the end of the term, I want to take a moment to reflect on some important changes and express my appreciation for our community's resilience and support.
Firstly, I would like to acknowledge Maree Stavert's medical retirement. The school board is actively working towards the goal of advertising and interviewing for a new Principal to commence at the beginning of 2025. In the meantime, we are incredibly grateful to Jacob Prisk, our acting Principal, for his dedication and leadership over the past few years. Jacob has ensured that our school continues to operate at a high level, providing support and engagement for our staff, students, and the wider community.
I also want to address the recent negative comments we've seen on social media regarding our school and sadly some of our staff. It's essential for us as a community to remain supportive and encouraging. Glen Eden Intermediate has so much to offer, and it can be disheartening when negativity overshadows our many accomplishments. If you have concerns about the school, your child, or our community, please reach out to our senior leadership team. We are here to listen and address your concerns.
For decades, Glen Eden Intermediate has been a place where students thrive, creating fond memories and enjoying numerous opportunities and facilities. Let’s celebrate these strengths and recognise the positive impact our school has had on many lives.
Looking ahead to Term Four, we have an exciting line-up of celebrations that our Tamariki can look forward to. Personally, it’s bittersweet for me as I prepare to see my youngest finish her time at our school and transition to high school. While I am excited for our Tamariki as they grow and develop, there’s a part of me that feels a sense of sadness as this chapter closes.
Thank you for your continued support. Let’s celebrate our successes and look forward to the future together.
Ngā mihi
