GEIS students represent Auckland City and NZ in Fukuoka, Japan.

During the holiday break,  Amy Hornby, Rosa Joiner, Jarom Rowell,  Caleb Wichman and teacher Annet Woolford travelled to Fukuoka to take part in this annual event.  The students were selected for this honour while still in Year 6 at their primary school and worked hard for a number of months preparing for the trip.

As Junior Ambassadors, they joined with students representing 46 countries from across the Asia Pacific region.    As part of their journey they learnt about Japanese culture in their home-stays and experienced going to school in Japan.   They also made many new friends from many different countries.  Miss Woolford reports that throughout the journey the team constantly exhibited our school values of resilience, integrity, excellence and respect.   We are proud of their achievements!
