Meet Our School Council

Michelle Abbasi —

This newsletter we introduce Layla Maia Faumui, Quinn Pirrit, Josiah Va'ai Tupai and Lillian Cochran.

Layla Maia Faumui Class Councillor Room 2: My parents are from Saleufi, Samusu, and Te Tairawhiti. In my spare time I like to be creative. I enjoy designing, and sketching, and have been a member of Sau e Siva and belong to a Halau. I love sports and play a number of sports for club and school. My favourite things to do is travel to Northland beaches, boogie board, BBQ, and spending time with family.   In the future I would like to travel the world and make amazing memories.

Quinn Pirrit Class Councillor Room 7: I live in a family of 5, my younger brother Louis, my older sister, Billie, and my mum and dad. I love to do sports and have adventures on our boat called the Reremoana. I live in French Bay and do heaps of swimming there.  Most of my summer is spent there too. I love farms, especially my Nana Bean’s farm way up north in Whangarei, I feed, pat and play with the animals.

Josiah Va'ai Tupai Class Councillor Room 14:  My teacher is Miss Iti.  One thing that I love doing is singing and really getting into the performing arts.  The best thing that I have done is performing for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.  I love old things more than new things including music. I don’t like math very much but reading is my favourite.  One thing that my family loves about me is that I am different from the others.

Lillian Cochran Class Councillor Room 34:  My two favourite hobbies are writing and dancing. I'm super friendly and love to make new friendships every day. I dance full time after school at Rhythm "n" Steps dance Academy. I play piano and I do swimming classes. I'm also part Hawaiian and a tiny bit Chinese thanks to my Grandpa. My family supports me so much in school and I'm really excited to start new friendships here at GEIS!
