Sports Camp
Sports Camp is highly competitive and GEIS puts in a lot of hard work to prepare our teams for this competition.
Every year Totara Springs (Matamata) hosts several Year 7 & 8 Sports Competitions. The Intermediate Schools Sports Camp consists of 30 different events covering the entire sporting arena throughout a whole week. Glen Eden Intermediate first entered this competition in 2003 and we have had some outstanding results.
In 2020 we have entered our school into three sports camp competitions, our teams will be Gladiators, Warriors and Spartans.
GLADIATORS Sports Camp date: 22nd - 26th June
WARRIORS Sports Camp date: 29th June - 3rd July
SPARTANS Sports Camp date: 3rd - 7th August
It is highly competitive and GEIS puts in a lot of hard work to prepare our teams for this competition.

When the teams are selected we expect our students to be 100% committed to our training programme. We have most of our training sessions at 7.15am or lunchtimes at GEIS.
There are over 350 students trialling for Sports Camp and it is important for parents/caregivers to understand that we only have 38 positions available in each team, so not every student trialling will be selected. We also observe students at upcoming zone days in term one.
We are looking for students who are all rounders, they are capable across 2-3 different codes, maintain a good level of fitness, have a willingness to work hard, display the GEIS values, are up to date with their school work and show a commitment to our trainings.
The process of selection for Sports Camp starts in term one.
Students attend Special Fitness in term one weeks 2 - 10
Parents register their child to trial in one sporting code. This must be done by Friday 6th March
Trials will be held from 16th March - 3rd April
Teams will be selected by 9th April
